You may need to make changes to the design of your forms after data collection has started.

Please read this guide carefully since some changes you make could invalidate the data that you have already collected or cause data loss.

When in doubt please first check with our team: support@teamscopeapp.com

‍

What changes are ok

Below are changes that are ok and will not affect your data.

‍

1. Adding new choices to choice and dropdown

Once you form is already active you can add new choices to choice or dropdown fields.

‍

Important: When adding new choices always add the new choice at the bottom of the list. Doing otherwise will corrupt already collected data. If you have questions please don't hesitate to email us: support@teamscopeapp.com

‍

‍

‍

2. Adding a new question/field (or reordering them)

Adding a new field will not affect your previous data. You may add it wherever you want and you can also reorder fields after data collection has started.

‍

3. Changing the field title and description

You may change at any moment the field title and description, this will not affect the data that you have already collected.

‍

What changes are not ok

The following are changes that will invalidate data that you have already collected.

‍

1. Relabelling a choice

After data collection has started we highly recommend that you don't modify the wording on a choice, specially if it will change the meaning of the choice.

‍

‍

2. Deleting a field

Deleting a field will invalidate the data that you have collected previously with that field. We highly recommend that you never delete a field and instead hide it using branching logic. By hiding is the field will no longer appear during data entry and the data that you have collected with it will remain intact.

‍

3. Changing the question type

Changing the question type may cause loss of data. We highly recommend that once data collection has started that you don't change the field type of a question in your forms.
