Matrix field

When collecting data that follows a repetitive pattern a matrix field can help to condense your form and improve efficiency in data entry.

You can give the matrix field custom rows and columns.

How to use the matrix field type

Start by going to any of your forms and select Matrix:

Then click on Edit table to customise it to your needs.

You can start by defining your rows, then your columns and finally the individual setting of each column.

Each column can have the following field type:

  • Text
  • Number
  • Single choice (radio button)
  • Multiple choice (check box)
  • Date
  • Dropdown

You can also style each column by giving it a custom color:

When switching on "Paste values in rows below" and entering a value on a cell, that value will get copy/pasted all the way to the bottom. This feature is useful in cases where you expect the same values to be same and thus it avoids having to enter it manually cell by cell.

Important: This feature only has effect at the moment on the iOS app. If you need this also for our Android or when entering data on Web please let us know.

Test that it is working like intended

Now that you have the matrix configured save the changes and try using the form to enter data:
